These words on the in between.
This woman who did a brilliant Happier Hour chez moi last night.

This excuse to swill olive oil and wine.
This downtown field jacket Big Girl will be sporting this spring.
This piece on Fakebooking.
These words on the smell of a book.
And these words on tears.
This bit on how little we know about grammar.
This post on what a mom wants for her ordinary kid.
This talented jewelry designer who is a good friend from high school.

Oh, that story about the ordinary kid brought tears to my eyes. I found myself wanting to reread the ending because I know that feeling (as the kid, not the parent) of something finally going your way. That initial “win” is usually just the start of things starting to “click,” not because you’ve suddenly become lucky but because it changes your whole outlook on what is possible. Such a really really beautiful story.
Unsurprisingly, many of these are my favorites from the last week. Love the term “blogeague” and am so going to adopt it (with credit to you of course). xox
The story about the ordinary child made me tear up as well. I am totally that kid (or was) and I imagine my Mom feeling the same way. But good for that little boy for stepping out and trying. Totally something to be proud of.
I loved that article on Facebooking! It reminded me a lot of what you posted earlier this week on your pictures from your trip and your honesty in them. I meant to comment on it and am now realizing I didn’t…I mean to comment because it was so refreshing to not only see the picture perfect images but to hear the commentary that may not have been so picture perfect in between. I thought a lot of Facebook and how I know deep down people’s lives are not as picture perfect as they seem on Facebook…but sometimes it’s hard to remember that and not let things bug you. With two posts now that I have read this week showing the exact examples of the real life that isn’t always so pretty behind the pretty pictures I feel like it’s the universe telling me it’s time I really really believed it. Hope you have an AWESOME weekend too!
Loving your round ups, Aidan. Thanks for the the fresh inspiration! xo
That ordinary kid piece was anything but ordinary. I seriously wanted to hug that kid through the ether. xox
