Romance

At the rehearsal dinner last night, there was an abundance of good food and good wine and laughter and tears. There were seventeen speeches. At the end of the evening, the bride and groom stood up and said something. They thanked their groomsmen and bridesmaids and their families and friends, new and old.

The groom said something simple and arresting and exquisitely romantic about his girl, about how he felt when he first met her.

He said, "I just wanted to pick her up and take her with me."

And today he will.
