Owl by Big Girl.
I don't remember why I took this, but I think I look happy. (And tired.)
On Friday, we flew to California to visit my sister-in-law J, brother-in-law N and their adorable new babies.
Swoon. I'm not allowed to say this, but I kind of want another. (I think.)
It was hard not to bring her home with me.
We walked around the Google campus.
And saw the happy-hued Google bikes.
The new mom with her babes by a fountain.
And then we visited Facebook.
And the Facebook wood shop.
And the Facebook Analog Research Laboratory.
And we popped by Instagram and I'm smitten with Instagram so this was extra exciting.
Old cameras on display at the Instagram Headquarters.
The bar & skateboard at Instagram.
Me taking a picture of the keyboard vending machines.
A stairwell. Love the words.
It was so good to get away, but even better to get home.
And then, of course, it snowed some more this morning. As Big Girl and I waited for her bus, we drew a happy carrot.
Our garden.
I spent the day writing, and struggling with my writing, which is why this post comes so late in the afternoon. But I sit here with my words and my coffee and the snow outside and I realize that, yup, this is a dream.
Truth be told, I am exhausted from the weekend and a bit frustrated about the fiction-writing and sad about Philip Seymour Hoffman, but I am excited about other things. Like this article about a wonderful friend and a wonderful project. Like the fact that I am headed downstairs to snuggle with my sweet little girls.
It's all good.
Far far better than good.
